 Essex 20 (inc Debden 10k)

The Essex 20 (miles!) has been held at Debden airfield for the last few years, and is a popular fixture for those training for spring marathons. Although it’s a largely flat course, the wind provided a real challenge this year.

We had a huge turnout at the 20 mile race this year. However, I’ve had relatively few submissions so have listed those who were registered under WRC, and the Essex results that I’m aware of. Thanks to those who did submit PBs – if I’ve missed yours, please get in touch.

Debden 10k

Steven Alder went along to Debden for the 10k option, which he completed in 59:14, and then stuck around to take photos of the 20 mile runners. Well done, Steven!

Essex 20

Some fantastic performances – with no less than 5 of our runners achieving county podiums. Stand out performances from Vicky and Heydon, who both broke club records – Heydon breaks his own record by 2 minutes, and Vicky breaks the FV45 record set in 2011 over 12 minutes!

And as if all of that wasn’t enough, Will, Heydon and Richard brought home Men’s team gold, which is an outstanding achievement and the first time for the club at this distance.

South Weald Country Park 10k

Ross Silverton was at this very hilly and challenging 10k, which he completed in 1:04:45

MEC “Another Great Museum Trail”

Terry Alabaster was at this MEC event, covering 6.5 miles in 56:47. Unfortunately the MEC website seems a little behind with results, so I’m not aware of anyone else having run this.
