Galleywood Gallop

The first of 2 ETE events this week, the Gallop was a 5 mile navigation trail, held on Galleywood Common on Wednesday evening. Terry Alabaster finished joint 3rd – well done!

Taxus Baccata trail Manuden

I believe Terry A was our only representative at this second ETE event. I don’t know who/what Taxus Baccata is, or where Manuden is, or even how far the race was. I do know that Terry bagged 3rd place, in a time of 1:06:41, because he told me 🥰 Thanks Terry – you’re my star pupil when it comes to results submissions!

Colchester  10K

Not to be confused with the Colchester Stampede 😒 which I think is next week, WRC had two runners at this 10k from the Garrison Stadium.

Stephen Williams 10k Road Race

Tony Easter was in Bury St Edmunds for this memorial 10k, finishing in a PB of 50:44. Well done Tony!

 

Transvulcania Ultra

Resident ultra-loon Matt Jordan appears to have run 75k around a volcano. Although allegedly it wasn’t as warm as one might expect. Matt completed the 75k course, with over 4200 metres of elevation, in 12:00:16.

 

Halstead (& Essex) Marathon

With just the small matter of the hot and hilly Halstead Marathon remaining, there were some incredible performances from our runners in this County Champs race.

Will Radley bagged second place overall, earning himself county silver, and with Jamie Davidson and Giles Sowerby coming in 11th and 12th, that was mens team Gold for WRC! Jamie Davidson also won County Gold for MV45, with Giles getting Silver.

Sian Tate, having felt she had more to give after her awesome performance at Lake Garda last month, managed to take another 16 mins off her recently set PB. Way to go, Sian!!

Commiserations to Celine Elson and Harry Solomon, who were sadly unable to complete the course due to injuries. Next time, both 🖤💛
