Presentation dinner/dance evening

21 February 2016 - By Stewart Waller

The Presentation dinner/dance, for me at least, signals the end of one year and the start of a new. True that this was probably more so when the function was held towards the end of January each year but we can still now say goodbye to 2015 (just one more XC!) and fully welcome the challenges of 2016. With only one or two races gone there is everything to aim for and who knows the names that might be appearing on the trophies at next years presentation? Nothing is certain and surprises crop up as witnessed at last nights ‘do’ and none were more surprised than a few of the recipients that they should have won. Or should they have been surprised? The effort was put in and the rewards were received.

It was a great evening – as usual. Our first live band (if a bit loud for these old ears!) and it was good to see John Roberts and his wife Ann in attendance after his illness. Our thanks must go to Tracey for arranging the function and to Kerry who was instrumental in setting things up during the afternoon. The warm-up act finally managed to get underway an hour late (despite our attempts to hide the microphone from him) and if you wondered what you missed then you had better make sure that you come along next year. Who knows – it might be your name on a trophy!

A full list of winners will follow.
