Photography Competition Results

20 April 2020 - By Jason Lilley

Our judge has now finished deliberating and has provided us with results for our competition.  He was advised that all images were taken on cameraphones whilst running, but was nonetheless very impressed with our entries, and said that some of the images would not have been out of place in a professional competition.

In third place, is Bijay Lama for this excellent landscape image.  The judge was impressed with the good use of negative space and the way the path draws the viewers eye to the tree in the distance.

Second place goes to James Crisp for this fantastic image of the Essex Coastline.  The judge was impressed with the composition of this shot, and the excellent depth of colour.

Our winner, and the lucky recipient of a £20 Amazon gift voucher, is Sean Darney, for this superb shot of a swan taking flight.  There is very little to fault in this image, but the judge was especially complimentary of the lighting and tone of the image, and the way the sense of action and movement has been captured.

In addition to our winner and two runners up, our judge also commended the images submitted by the following members:

Angela Wray
Mark Underdown
Andy Notley
James Blackshaw
Jason Lilley

Our judge was kind enough to provide a brief write up with feedback on all the images mentioned above.  You can read his comments here.

Thank you to everyone who took part.  Look out for some more activities coming your way soon!
