November 2025 CMOTM

A hearty congratulations for the Club Member of the Month for November 2025: Richard Joisce. Richard stood out this month for an act of real character at the Essex League race in Hainault. He stopped mid-race to help an unwell runner and made sure they received first aid, despite it being the day before his own wedding. He still represented Witham brilliantly and set an example the whole club can be proud of.

Well done to our other nominees for November:

• Adam Regan – For his massive PB at Benidorm 10k and the hard work put in leading up to the race.
• Steven Wherrett – Wez was the winner of the Stebbing 10 with a PB run of 58:50 and part of WRC’s winning men’s team. Also, he has put in strong performances at NESS XC races.
• Irina Ashdown – Irina only started running on Boxing Day last year where she finished the BD5 in just under an hour. In November she went sub 2 in the Norwich Half Marathon.
• Liz Atkinson (nee Prior) – Benidorm 10k – following the training plan to the letter, never missing a session and showing up on race day with a quality performance.
• Giles Sowerby – for achieving a sub 30 mins at Hatfield 5 in a competitive field, being the lone club member and showing how strong we are as a club. He’s wanted a sub 30 for a while and now sets the bar high for others to attempt.
• Glen ‘Wally’ Waller – He was an amazing team mate at Norwich half marathon and ran with Irina the whole race and really supported her to get the biggest PB of her life. Wally didn’t leave Irina. and was an absolute star! Shows again what the club is all about.
• Liz Stuckey – For her performance at Benidorm Half Marathon, continuing her return to fitness and exceeding expectations.
