The Club Member of the Month for May 2023 is awarded to Dan Griffiths for his amazing Edinburgh Marathon run whereby he got under the 3 hours in a new PB (by 36 minutes!) after the dedication he gave to his training, and looking at his splits they were pretty consistent with his last mile the quickest! It was also a much hotter day than he would have expected. He also ran several PBs in the lead-up to the race

We had some other brilliant nominees for May:

Owen Dare – for his PB, 1st in Age Category and Diamond Standard at the Edinburgh Marathon, just 2 weeks after running Halstead marathon where he paced another runner and went on to win his age group.

Natalie Lilley – For her dedication to her training for the Halstead Marathon, which included a lot of running up hills (including a course recce and even on a birthday trip to Scotland!) and being patient when injury struck in the last few weeks and for running the marathon and crossing the line with a smile on her face

Sian Tait – For running her first marathon (London) this year and then smashing her 10K PB at HBO

Shane Ketteridge – Always being committed, has run lots of races from half marathons to 10Ks, always encouraging others and making people feel included with a friendly face.

Louis Kitchener – Running his first ever half marathon at Colchester in an incredible time of 1:52:35
