Our Club Member of the Month for June 2024 has been awarded to Ross Silverton. Ross always attends Tuesday nights sessions, when we can always count on him to know the routes, and any race going in Essex every week, unless he is away on holidays. He recently received the V70 award at Springfield Friday Night 5. Well done, Ross!

Our other nominees for June 2024 were:

• Ann Johnson (Little Annie) – Annie has been a club member for many years, throughout which she has been consistent in her support of club activities. Annie had a horrible fall 18 months ago, which resulted in her badly fracturing her ankle and needing surgery to fit pins and plates. Annie competed in Leg 3 of the John Roberts 5k series, despite being incredibly nervous, running the whole 5k without stopping, finishing in an incredible time, bearing in mind her injury.
• Rupert Bulgin – Race to the King – 42nd out of 367 and an epic distance of more than 100km was covered. Absolutely outstanding endeavour!
• Matt Jordan – for completing two ultras in the month of June – 100miles of South Downs Way followed by 80KM UTMB in Italian Dolomites – incredible.
• Heydon Mizon – For breaking the 10k and 5mile club records in the month of June.
• Angela Read – For successfully training and then completing her first ever half marathon – super impressive for a woman who once said she doesn’t want to bother running anything above 5km!
• Terry Alabaster – 1st in the MEC Trail, 3rd in the ETE Farmhouse trail and 1st in his age category at the Boxted 10k.
