July 2025 CMOTM
27 August 2025 - By Steven Alder

Well done to our winner of CMOTM for July 2025 – Ian Cuthbert. He was nominated for a great month of running, starting with great performances at the JR5k final and Ekiden, and ending with the hilly 45-mile St Cuthbert’s Way Ultra where he supported Chrissy for the first 26.2 miles, and going on to complete his first ultra.
Well done to our our nominees for July:
- Kerry Townsend – for her vast improvement with her marathon training, her constant encouragement and motivating others to run to their best!
- Christine Israel-Jones – Chrissy took on the brutally hilly 45-mile St Cuthbert’s Way ultra after months of focused training, including tough prep races like the Orion 15 and Stour Valley Marathon. Around mile 6, she took a fall in the dark and injured her ankle but pushed on with incredible determination to reach 26.2 miles and over 3,000ft of elevation. Her positivity, mental strength, and resilience were inspiring throughout, and she made the whole weekend a really enjoyable experience. A great example of strength and perseverance – well done, Chrissy!
- Simon Handley – for his enthusiasm at his first Ekiden, running 2 legs in all weathers with a smile on his face the whole time.
- Owen Dare – another club record bites the dust – Great Bentley Friday 5, Owen came second in his age category, securing a PB and another club record.
- Will Radley – for pushing himself at the John Roberts Handicap race and grabbing not just a PB but a Course Record!
- Patrick Hinchliffe – At the final JR 5k he was last man home 16/16 but, in the handicap race, he was 18/30 overall. He also ran 61:29 at Arthur Whiston 5m. He’s also a regular at club nights.
