Essex Road Relays 2026 – runner request

Hi all

Further to Will’s posts, we currently need 1 male and 1 female runner – if anyone would like to run please let me know. These will likely be non-Essex teams and therefore you do not need to hold an EA licence.

As another note, neither Will nor I can be there on the day, so if we could have 1 man and 1 woman volunteer to be our captain for the day please that would be great.

ESSEX & SUFFOLK ROAD RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Date – Sunday 22 March 2026

Location – Northern Gateway Sports Park, Colchester (where we have the track 5ks)

Teams and timings are as follows:

Race 3: Women (Open, V40, V50 & V60) – 11:15am – 3 runners per team

Race 4: Vet Men (V40, V50 & V60) – 12:30pm – 3 runners per team

Race 5: Open Men – 1:30pm – 4 runners per team

All legs are approximately 3 miles in distance.

Please arrive at least 30 mins before your start time.

This event is open to all members, but you must represent WRC in club colours (black & gold race vest or t-shirt).  Entry fee is covered by the Club.

To be eligible to win county medals, you must have an EA licence and be ‘Essex qualified’ (meaning that you were either born in Essex, or have been an Essex resident for at least 9 months).
