Code of Conduct reminder
12 August 2024 - By Karen Flowers
Hi everyone,
Recently I have been informed of several inappropriate conversations between members, this has occurred face to face, on WhatsApp chats and on Facebook posts. With this in mind, I thought it was time to remind everyone of our WRC Code of Conduct.
Respectful behaviour: – Be friendly; treat one another with kindness and respect – Please avoid personal attacks direct or indirect, slurs, and profanity – Respect other members’ points of view even if they differ to yours.
WRC is a diverse club of nearly 200 members. As such, when engaging in dialogue, whether it’s through direct conversations, social media posts, or starting conversations on WhatsApp, it’s important to communicate with mindfulness and respect for our diverse audience.
Our amazing Committee and coaching team are made up of volunteers, we sometimes make mistakes and we don’t always get it right first time.
As such, feedback and/ or concerns should be shared respectfully. Open conversations help us grow as a club.
If, at any time you feel you need to talk to someone about ANYTHING that has made you feel uncomfortable, please contact one of our 2 Welfare Officers, Andrew Watson and Sasha Rush. Any conversation will be kept strictly confidential.
Remember, running is about enjoyment! Let’s make the most of our time together and create lasting memories!
Thank you for being a part of our running family! Let’s keep these principles in mind as we hit the road and trails together. Happy running! 🏅
Karen
