Club Member of the Month for August is Mark Austin, for his fantastic club record at the Friday night 5k Run in Colchester and also for his enthusiasm and encouragement to runners at the Sunday Long Runs.

Mark endeavours to increase the Sunday Long Run Attendance, encouraging runners of all abilities to join and organising different runs over varying terrains.  He is always very encouraging and makes sure the pace is kept comfortable for all runners, to make sure everyone gets round safely.

Our other wonderful nominees for August were:

Sian Tate – Sian ran 30 miles at OutRun 24 which is an incredible achievement in itself, but Sian hadn’t run more than half marathon distance prior to the event.

Annalise Tye– Annalise ran a blistering 5k leg at Eikiden running a massive pb of 23.47 finishing with the most incredible sprint finish and a smile on her face. She managed to bring the team in under the (secret) target of 3:45.

Angela Read – For taking on the final 5k leg of the Eikiden Relay and being a great sport in letting several members of the club run with her for the last lap. It has also been lovely to see Angela attend several Tuesday evening runs over the Summer.

Celine Elson – For her performances at the Colchester Friday 5k and the Eikiden Relays where she achieved a 10K pb on an extremely hot day.
