***POSTPONED*** Christmas 5k – 17th December

Yule be pleased to noel we’re hosting the next race in the Winter 5K series on 17th December. Great news if you’ve been a bit claus-trophopic over this second lockdown, and a great opportunity to sleigh that 5k PB in race conditions before Christmas. Even if you’re not in PB shape, this is great way to sharpen your antlers ahead of the return to racing next year.

In the present climate, we obviously need to adhere to the current guidance, such as santatising your hands before the race, and filling in the online form below. As always with our internal club races, we need some little helpers, and we’ll probably need to hold at least two separate races on the evening to accommodate everyone and fit with EA guidelines, so ideally we’d like some of the people racing to offer to marshal or time keep in the other race.

So please fill in the form below, and state whether you want to run, run & marshal, or just marshal. This will create a list, which I’ll be checking twice.

The race is open to all members, whether full or virtual, and will be held at our legendary winter 5k course in Witham. The time of the race is fluid at the mo, as we don’t know whether we’ll need 1 or 2 races. Entry will close around lunchtime on Wednesday 16th, so that I can divide you all up and set the start times. Let’s just hope the weather holds off and we’re not dashing through the snow. Race directors on the night will be Liz Prior and myself, and bribes of mince pies are encouraged.
