2020/21 Membership Notice
3 March 2020 - By Karen Flowers
As discussed at this week’s AGM it has been decided by the Committee to align our WRC Membership Year with the EA Membership Year, which is April 1st 2020 to March 31st 2021.
The good news is that your current 19/20 membership period has been extended by a month and your next membership fees are now not due until April 1st.
At the AGM there was a unanimous decision to continue using the Rickstones & Maltings Academies for our Tuesday venues – unfortunately though the hiring of these venues comes at a higher cost than the Football Club so we have had no choice but to increase our annual membership fees for 20/21.
Our new Membership Fee Structure is as follows:
Individual – £30
Student – £15
Non-Training – £15
Over 65’s – £10
Family – £50
An increase of £5 on all but Family Memberships, which sees a £10 increase.
Unfortunately, not only have we increased our fees, England Athletics have decided to as well. From April 1st your EA Licence will cost £16/ year so an increase of £15
Our Opt-Out EA Licence process will still be operational this year – so unless you opt out of a licence your fees will be:
Individual – £46
Student – £31
Non-Training – £31
Over 65’s – £26
Family (you & Ptnr) – £82
I encourage you to renew your EA licence or if you haven’t registered in the past to sign up for one. We receive a club entry at the VLM if we have 1-149 EA Licence holders and a 2nd entry for 150-199 – we came really close last year to getting that 2nd entry…. so lets aim to get there this year! VLM to one side though, as an EA registered athlete you receive subsidies on any race you enter (within the UK) as well as other benefits – so SIGN UP!!!
For anyone who has already paid their subs for 2020/21 I thank you but please would you contact me so we can discuss an arrangement to pay the additional £5 that will be owed in April.
Please note that as you are getting a bonus month with your 20/21 membership we will not be offering an early bird discount.
The website has now been updated to reflect these changes, so you will just need to log on and click the ‘Renew your Membership’ button and follow the instructions. Whilst you are renewing your fees please update your contact details if necessary and add an emergency contact.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hi Karen! What’s the criteria for student membership please?
Hi Karen, I can’t seem to renew my membership. Scott and I were individual members last year – as he joined later, but I want to renew as a family membership. Can you advise how I do this? Thanks, Kerry x
