WRC Track 5k Race – 5th April
5 April 2019 - By James Blackshaw
This is the first internal club 5k of the year, and is open to ALL club members.
It is a club championship race, and is completely free!
It will be held at Braintree running track, Panfield Lane, CM7 1FF. Walk through reception and out to the track, which is to the left once you’re outside again.
Following on from Steve Henning’s legacy, we will again be holding two separate races on the night, the first for runners whose PB is more than 22 minutes, and the second for runners whose PB is less than 22 minutes.
Your Race Director on the night will be Scott Darney, and always we need some volunteers for lap counting and timing, so if you are free and don’t fancy running then please let me know. Volunteers get club champs points too!

Is this a race to see who can come first, or a race for yourself to get an updated 5k time? I’m just wondering if it’s worth doing if you know you’ll be one of the last to finish..?
Hi Verne, it is a race, there will be prizes for first place, but 99% of those taking part will just trying to achieve a good 5k time, and maybe improve their PB. Definitely worth doing, even if you think you’ll be last, as it is a great friendly atmosphere to get 5k time
