Weekend Race Results – Syncronised Trail Running is a thing apparently!!

19 August 2018 - By Steve Hennings

All races were run on Sunday unless stated

Clacton Half Marathon

The breezy, humid conditions made the racing a little challenging for the 3 club members that travelled to Brexit Central for the half marathon. David Church, who’s training had been impacted by shin splints following the May Day 10, recorded a strong 8th place overall.

Name Time Comment
David Church 01:26:01 8th Place
Chelsie Hearn 02:16:40
Sylvia Bullen-Bell 02:33:23

Aldeburgh 10k – Awaiting Results

Up on the Suffolk Coast, Heydon and Ruth Mizon returned to the Aldeburgh Festival to take on the trail/beach 10k mini marathon. 4th person home, Heydon came in around 38mins with Ruth finishing in 55mins.

Weekend Trail Races – Awaiting Results

Trail runners don’t need any encouragement to go and run around the outside of a field at the best of time, but The Admiral McHardy Way 11.5 miler (which was named after Admiral McHardy who founded the Essex Police Force in 1840) was even more appealing for the law abiding citizens of Witham RC. We had a bunch of runners involved, but most impressive was the newly formed WRC synchronised trail running team all crossing the line at exactly the same time!!

Andy Lager 1:34:51
Bill Smythe 1:49:43
Tony Wallen 1:49:43
James Blackshaw 1:59:31
Adam Regan 1:59:31
Brigid Wallen 1:59:31
Gerry Greenwold 1:59:31
Jason Lilley 1:59:31
Terry Alabaster 1:59:31

Also starting from the same point was the Chelmer Trail 7.5km race which Ben Miller undertook finishing in 0:53:10.
