Swim Serpentine 14th Sep
Held in the Serpentine lake in Hyde Park and run by London Marathon events. There are swim waves from 8.15am through to 16.25 with distances of 1/2 mile , one mile, tow mile and super six mile on offer. The two mile is part of the London Classics which consists of the London Marathon, Ride 100 London and Swim Serpentine two mile.
Anita Grainger & Scott Darney both swam the two mile, will Anita in the 11.50am wave and Scott in the 15.20 wave. It was very busy especially when Anita swam, catching up slower swimmers from previous waves, including the last couple of laps of the super six for some , lots of breastrokers who seemed to span the width of the lake in the second half of the lap rather than keeping to the left as advised and at one point trying not to get squashed between two men who were both converging on her. Hopefully it was not as chaotic when Scott swam.
Anita completed the London classics having run London Marathon in 2012,2015 & 2016 and cycled Ride London in 2023.
