Farnborough Winter Half Marathon
Owen Dare headed to Farnborough for this EA “Age Group Masters” event. A quick intro to the concept of the Masters events:
The England Athletics Masters programme was established to showcase England’s best Masters road runners and celebrate lifelong involvement in competitive sport. Over several years the programme has evolved, offering more opportunities to qualify and represent England. The programme offers runners aged 35+ the opportunity to qualify to represent England at trail running, 10km, half marathon, and full marathon by taking part in qualification races spread across the country.
Owen finished in 1:22:02, just 2 seconds off of his own V60 club record (set last week!), and, more importantly, in 1st place for his age group, meaning that he qualifies to represent England next year. What an amazing achievement!
Well done, everyone. Next week’s race calendar looks pretty quiet, so do be sure to submit any races you might be running 🙂
