Whilst a large proportion of the club were at the cross country on Sunday, a couple of people opted for a race on firmer ground. Mark Lynch and Ross Silverton both raced the Billericay 10K, with Mark finishing in 44:30, and Ross in 52:35.

Then there is Terry Alabaster who seems to have got the long distance bug. He ran in the Newport Trail marathon which turned out to be slightly over a marathon. He describes it as a muddy off road run over the undulating slopes of North Essex. He finished in a commendable 4h41m53s.
