parkrun – 29/11/2025

2 December 2025 - By Steven Alder

This week at parkrun saw our pacer week of Markshall Estate parkrun. We had 17 of our runners from Witham RC particpating in pacing between 20:00 and 36:00, one for each minute. Hopefully this helped a few parkrunners achieve goals and PBs. However, whilst looking at the times our runners did, how did everyone stack up against their time? I list below their pacer minute, the actual time and how far they were from their time.

A special shoutout to Mick for being spot on to his pacing time, and a huge thank you to the tail walker Angela Read, and also other hi-viz heroes Anita Grainger, Lysia Jiggins, John Flowers, DJ, Anne Radovcic, Jodee Mayer, Annie Johnson, Trevor Johnson, Glen ‘Wally’ Waller and Andrew Read. Beth Shippey who was the 35:00 pacer also celebrated with her 50th parkrun.

As well as Markshall Estate, our runners were also in Whitstable, Bury St Edmunds, Maldon Prom, Chelmsford Central, Brentwood, Great Notley, Kensington (USA), Loch Leven, Coldham’s Common, and Highwoods, as well as a bonus parkrun in Three Rivers Heritage Trail (USA – Thanksgiving extra parkrun).

Adam Hocken visited Highwoods parkrun in Colchester.

Some parkrun trivia – you might be aware that parkrun hosts an extra event in the UK on New Year’s Day and Christmas Day. However, some countries have their special event on other days – such as Thanksgiving in the USA, Unity Day in Germany, Whit Monday in the Netherlands and Ascension Day in the Nordics. The full list can be found on their website.
