parkrun – 20/06/2026

26 June 2026 - By Steven Alder

This week we were visiting Penrith, Thorney Bay Beach, Walton Promenade, Maldon Prom, Winchester, Riverside Park, Harrow Lodge, Northside Beltline (USA!), Dinton Pastures, Thornham Walks, Markshall, Chelmsford Central, Sizewell, Basildon, Jersey Farm and Bishan (Singapore!).

Starting with our international locations, Heydon Mizon got an American one done at Northside Beltline in Atlanta. He managed to get 1st place in a time of 18:50, in a field of 58 parkrunners – he also had the highest Age Grade there. Monty was in the other direction from the UK where he went to Bishan over in Singapore. We’ve heard it was extremely humid over there, and even with an early start it would have been a scorcher, so well done to him with his time of 29:22.

Much, much closer to home at Maldon Prom was Jamie Marlow (19:43 parkrun PB), Simon Handley (20:07), Dean Whittaker (22:52 and then Barcode Scanner), Adam Regan (22:55), Annalise Etherington (23:44), Steve Hookings (24:37), Ian Lucas (26:22), Dawn Shilling (30:44), Sue Shippey (31:16), Ross Silverton (32:40) and Joe McEwan (39:02). Meanwhile the Graingers went to Harrow Lodge, with Anita completing the course in 28:11 and David in 37:12.

Sharon Read was up at Penrith this week in the Lake District, with a time of 26:45. The Beazeleys are the latest to do the new parkrun in Canvey Island, with Chris finishing in 25:12 and Nichola in 26:44. Meanwhile Walton Promenade saw Adam Hocken (24:11), Fiona Collins (30:02) and Michael Poulter (35:52).

Lisa Leader was spending the weekend at Aldeburgh, so she nipped off to Sizewell to get the parkrun done there in 32:49. Gus Maby was at Jersey Farm (22:57) and collected the letter J for his alphabet challenge – only six more letters and he’ll have the set (he just needs E, L, Q, V, Y and Z). Patrick Hinchliffe went off to Basildon this week, in 38:49 whilst at Chelmsford Central was Lee Tooey (23:28) and Glen ‘Wally’ Waller (32:58).

Steven Alder was attending Cowfest in Dinton Pastures (a UK parkrun Tourist meet up, held at four different parkruns each year), where someone put him in a cape (which kept a lot of heat in) and finished in 30:35. At Thornham Walks was Giles Sowerby (18:49 1st place) and Karen Pickering (21:18 1st Female).

At Markshall we had DJ as the Barcode Scanner, with Danny Connor (26:26), Simon Parsons (27:17), Andrew Smith (27:35) and Ann Johnson (34:05). The Wallens were in Glenrothes, completing Riverside Park – Tony in 23:21 and Brigid in 26:19. Over at Winchester Kevin Harper completed the course in 23:38.

The full set of results can be found here. Don’t forget to add Witham RC to your parkrun profile (we can’t do it for you).
