Firstly, a bonus congratulations to all the Witham RC parkrunners this week who attended the morning after the Awards/Dinner Dance! Witham RC runners could be found at Maidstone River Park, Rickmansworth, Colchester Castle, Whitstable, Maldon Prom, Chelmsford Central, Great Notley, Harwich, Felixstowe, Great Dunmow, Foro Italico (Italy) and Markshall.

Nicola Digby found herself in Palermo in Italy this week, so managed to visit Foro Italico and complete the course in a superb time of 32:32 and claimed 1st VW40-44! This is the fifth parkrun country Nicola has now been to, having previously also visited parkrun countries South Africa, Japan and Denmark (and the UK of course). Nice one Nicola!

Staying outside of Essex, but perhaps not quite as far as Italy, we saw Lisa Leader in Suffolk, where she did Felixstowe parkrun in 30:06. Steven Alder nipped over the Dartford Crossing to Kent, completing Maidstone River Park in 30:02, whilst Dawn Shilling was also in Kent at Whitstable, where she completed it in 32:48. Over in Hertfordshire, Giles Sowerby did Rickmansworth in 23:40.

Now let’s look at some of our more local events! Maldon Prom this week saw Leo Cole (22:14), Dean Whittaker (23:30), Steve Hookings (25:00), Chris Beazeley (25:41), Nichola Beazeley (27:49), Ross Silverton (30:14), Chrissy Israel-Jones (32:13) and Ian Cuthbert (32:13). Dean also helped with barcode scanning afterwards. Adam Hocken completed Harwich in 24:08 and Anthony Smith completed Great Dunmow in 31:39.

Chelmsford Central had Kevin Harper (24:03) and Fiona Collins (30:48), whilst Great Notley had Keith Taylor (27:35) and Lysia Jiggins (35:29). Patrick Hinchliffe went to Colchester Castle, completing his 230th parkrun in 39:27. And finally, at another one of Witham RC’s popular locations, Markshall saw Simon Parsons (21:54), Ben O’Leary (29:22), Rachel O’Leary (29:23), Angela Read (30:48) and Andrew Read (32:12). Well done to Angela for the course PB and thank you to Monty for his timekeeping skills!
