Virgin London Marathon rejections – there’s hope yet!

16 October 2019 - By Marc Underdown

I know that a few of our members got lucky and have been successful in getting a place in the VLM through the ballot system. At the same time I also know there are a lot of disappointed people who weren’t successful.

As a UKA registered club, we qualify to receive an allocation of place(s) into the race. Since last year this is based on the number of English Athletic race licenses held by our members. Last year we received only one club ballot place.

Anyone who has been rejected through the VLM ballot is entitled to receive the club ballot place(s). The club constitution document, which you can find in the ‘Club Document’ section of the member’s area sets out how we award the club ballot place(s) we are allocated. To be eligible, you will need to provide some form of evidence of your ballot rejection. This can be the cover sheet sent with the magazine in the post, or the email you may have received. Please pass these to me over the next few weeks. We are likely know our allocation at some point in November so I will advise later the exact deadline for submitting your rejection slips.
