9.30+mm – Tuesday Trail

Hi everyone

Our social trail running this week will be from the car park at the end of Blackwater Lane near Wheatmead Nature Reserve.

As usual we have 2 routes (about 4.7 miles and 5.6 miles) and different pace groups, please sign up before Monday 5pm so I can arrange the buddy groups of 6.

There is parking in the car park on  Blackwater Lane, but this is quite limited. The gap in the gates is also only 7ft wide and as Sasha will attest, I had a nervous time getting my Kuga through the gap even after bringing my wing mirrors in (maybe that says more about my disposition and driving than the gap in the gates…). So, I will be parking in Tesco’s car park and leaving from there at 6.15 for a warm up walk (about 1km) to Wheatmead if anyone wants to join me. We will walk down the Blackwater Trail to the car park.

We will then set off from the car park at 6:30pm in groups, with the 9.30mm groups leaving first.

The route was incredibly dry last weekend, and so road shoes should be fine despite this afternoon’s downpour.

The routes are available on Strava for anyone that wants to create a gpx or study the route before Tuesday – 4.7 miles and 5.6 miles. I will also post the routes in the WhatsApp group, and bring print outs of the directions (Jenny laid down the gauntlet last week, and I am not sure I can rise to it!).
