MD10 Pacing Results

4 May 2020 - By James Blackshaw

Well done to everyone that took part in this pacing event. Thanks to Scott Darney for organising and doing the lion’s share of the data entry for the results.

Congrats to Tom Ashley, with an amazing 2 points, only 1 second out on 1 split. You win a pair of trainers. Simply go online, find a pair you like, and pay for them.

A quick note about the results. They’re probably different to what you expect if you calculated them yourself. What we decided was that you would get 1 point for each second you were out on each split, plus 1 point for each second you were out on the overall time. However, the overall time we used was not your elapsed time that you posted, but was actually the total time of all your splits added together. This eradicated the possibility that you ran further on after ten miles in order to get closer to the your total predicted time. If you don’t like the way we’ve calculated the results, or think your points are wrong, then please feel free to write to your MP, because I won’t changing them. Remember, it’s just a bit of fun.

Thanks.

JB

Did I accrue too many points so that it would have been embarassing to publish my result?
