Thursday’s Session – 600s
28 August 2018 - By David Jobling
Scheduled session this Thursday is 600m repetitions, so nudging up the effort distance a bit this week.
Meet Witham Leisure Centre 1930 to get away by 1945, we’ll be heading to the Gershwin area to reprise a session we did there last year.
After our warm up run and drills, the plan is to run 600m efforts from our starting point, alongside and around the Gershwin pond and finishing the 600m effort nearish to where you started – the recovery is then an easy or slow walk back to the starting point, and then go again.
We’ll break it down into two blocks of around 15 minutes each (depending on where peeps are with their 600) with a 2 minute recovery between each half – this session main part should last around 30-35 minutes.
In terms of pacing and technical points, we’ll have something on these at our session briefing at Witham Leisure Centre – our 20 in Essex Way action on Sunday may wish to ease off on the gas though.
While you’re doing the session we’ll have somewhere for those clothing layers, drinks whatever etc.
Your coaching team looks forward to meeting up with everyone Thursday. DJ & Martyn.
