NESS XC R6 and 2025/26 Season results
22 February 2026 - By Jodee Mayer
Firstly, thank you for being so accommodating with car sharing this week; we only had 2 runners turn up unannounced which kept our car count below 10 still so very grateful.
Thanks to Colesey for holding my token folder again! Also thanks to Clare and Monty for baking (again) and to everyone that helped clear down the gazebo etc and transport it both ways – it takes a village.
Round 6 and season results
Well the forecast rain did not make an appearance, but that didn’t stop the mud coating our runners up to their knees.
Harwich is a tough course, and more than 1 person told me they’d rather the snow and freezing water features from last week, but one thing I like about it is being able to see you all a few times!
Wally has already let you know, but the full results are now in my inbox and so to confirm for the record, in a close run thing with our old rivals GBRC in both categories, our men came 2nd,
| POS | POOL A – MEN | TEAM SCORE |
| 1 | Colchester Harriers | 166 |
| 2 | Witham | 237 |
| 3 | Great Bentley | 242 |
| 4 | Ipswich Jaffa | 413 |
| 5 | CATS | 453 |
| 6 | Springfield | 643 |
our women came second,
| POS | POOL A – WOMEN | TEAM SCORE |
| 1 | Colchester Harriers | 17 |
| 2 | Witham | 64 |
| 3 | Great Bentley | 69 |
| 4 | CATS | 70 |
| 5 | Springfield | 146 |
| 6 | Ipswich Jaffa | 167 |
we came second today,
| POS | POOL A | M/F COMB | PTS |
| 1 | Colchester Harriers | 2 | 6 |
| 2 | Witham | 4 | 5 |
| 3 | Great Bentley | 6 | 4 |
| 4 | CATS | 9 | 3 |
| 5 | Ipswich Jaffa | 10 | 2 |
| 6 | Springfield | 11 | 1 |
and leapfrogged Jaffa into 2nd for the season for the second year running!!!!
Someone with more of a brain than me will be able to do the math, but neither Springfield nor Jaffa fielded full men’s or women’s teams today and who knows what difference it would have made to the score if we had done the same. So thanks for turning up today and thanks for turning out all season 🖤💛
SECOND AGAIN TEAM!!!

NESS Trophies
On to some news Wally hasn’t been able to spill…
As you may recall from the info post, these are only available to runners who run all races in a season, which this season was 6.
Witham have won the men’s trophy for the last few years, and this year Will Radley brings it home again.
This year, however, we are adding some more silverware to Witham runner’s trophy cabinets, as Sally Hoyle wins the women’s trophy!
Well done to both you, and all the runners listed below:
Women:
Amy Eyo – 4th (who got exactly 100 points across the season!)
Lisa Leader – 9th
Clare Boston – 10th
Angela Read – 13th
Men:
Andy Notley – 6th
Thomas Moysey – 12th
Andrew Read – 18th
WRC XC Trophies
It will therefore come as no surprise that this year the WRC XC Trophies are awarded to Will and Sally!
Well done to everyone that has run, helped me score, taken photos, and baked cakes. Another successful NESS season and look forward to next year!
