ATW Colchester Friday night 5k

This is a county champs event, but the county results aren’t yet confirmed (still don’t have them for the Arthur Whiston 5 mile, for that matter). I think that we may have a couple of county medals, but I don’t want to have to retract, so am awaiting confirmation 😊 Note that positions listed are across all fixtures, including the elite runners!

This is always a tricky fixture, even in a normal August, but the heat was even more extreme this year. So much so that one runner, when prompted to enter “race distance” put “5k of hell”! 😅

We still had a bunch of PBs, and a gold standard time and new MV70 club record for DJ – well done everyone!

Cold Norton Charity 10k/HM

This is a charity trail race held in Cold Norton, with runners able to choose between a 10K route or a Half Marathon. The event raises funds for Farleigh Hospice and is mixed terrain.

Terry Alabster took on the 10k distance, which he completed in 1:03:45, coming in second place.

Shane Ketteridge took on the half marathon, which he completed in 3:14:30

Well done both!

 

Lawford 10k

Hosted by Manningtree Rotary Club, this 10k was mostly on field edges, and allowed very little shade.

Not to be deterred, Ross Silverton finished in a time of 1:18 – which is his watch time as unfortunately I can’t find any official results. However, Ross is generally very honest, so I think we can trust him 😊
