Changes to the constitution – Please Read!

Hi everyone,
At our AGM last Monday, we as a committee had an amendment to our club constitution approved.
Currently, we have 215 members, but we often rely on the same core group, (about 1/3 of our total members) to volunteer at our WRC events. This doesnt seem fair!
May Day 10 and Boxing Day 5 events are the lifeblood of WRC; they fund our social calendar (like the BBQ and Xmas party), subsidise our kit, and cover many team and individual events such as NESS and Essex Relays. Most importantly, they’ve allowed us to keep membership fees frozen for four years.
Where else do you get so much for so little??
With this in mind….
To keep the club thriving and fair for everyone, the constitution now includes a requirement for all members to volunteer at at least one event per year. You’ll see this “opt-in” when you renew next month.
The events that you will have the opportunity to sign up for, include:
May Day 10
Boxing Day 5
Winter and Summer 5k series
Essex Way
NESS XC Series
Halstead Water Station
Dont forget as well, you get Club Championship points when you volunteer – so what is stopping you??
Why not tick off your volunteering early? Our May Day 10 race is on May 4th – we only need a few hours of your time. Come and see myself or Angela on a Tuesday night or DM either one of us.
