parkrun – 22/11/2025
25 November 2025 - By Steven Alder
Whilst quite a few of our members went off to Benidorm, they were unable to complete a parkrun this week as parkrun does not take place in Spain (maybe it will in the future, who knows?). This week in the local area, Markshall parkrun and Highwoods parkrun wern’t on, so our runners who regularly go there were making decisions on where to go instead. Witham RC was represented at parkruns this week in Hadleigh, Colchester Castle, Maldon Prom, Queen’s Belfast, Chelmsford Central, Kirkcaldy, Harwich, Ingrebourne Hill and Brooklyn Bridge (USA).
Leo Cole went off to the challenging hills of Hadleigh parkrun, completing it in 5th place in a time of 22:55. Meanwhile, up in Scotland the Wallens visited Kirkcaldy, with Tony finishing in 22:47 and Brigid in 24:56. Colchester Castle saw Patrick Hinchcliffe coming in at 37:29 and Dawn Shilling was down in Harwich completing it in 30:19. Giles Sowerby nipped to the otherside of the M25 (although remained in Essex) by completing Ingrebourne Hill in 19:13, and I’ve heard they were giving out Australian Dairy Milk chocolate for all the runners and volunteers..
The popular location this week was over at Maldon Prom, with at least 13 members of Witham RC present. Geoffrey Reddin came in just under the 24 minute mark in 23:57, completing his 337th parkrun, whilst Angela Read went wild with the 3s, achieving a time in 33:33. Vicki Riley has now completed her 200th parkrun in a time of 25:44.

Much further afield was Steven Alder doing Brooklyn Bridge parkrun in New York City in 24:45. Apparantly this is the first time it has rained for them for their parkrun, so we can only assume he took the rain from the UK weather there.
The full set of results of the various parkruns on the 22nd November 2025 by Witham RC members can be found here. Feel free to send over some photos or add to the Facebook group for future parkruns so they can appear in this weekly report.
Next week Witham RC will be ‘taking over’ at Markshall parkrun on the 29th November – why not join them if you’re in the area?
If you’ve signed up for parkrun and complete them, why not add Witham RC as a club on your profile? You’ll be showing off Witham RC in the results page of that parkrun, we’ll be able to see what other members of the club have been at various parkruns and you’ll appear in the consolidated results page. Clicking here will take you to the parkrun website where you can login to your profile and add us. You can join up to 5 groups, one of which can be your primary group.
