NESS XC Fixture 1 – Ipswich 26 October 2025

The NESS XC season kicks off on Sunday 26 October in Ipswich. Further details are below. As a reminder, all race fees are paid by the club and you just need to turn up on the day (where I will register you – please find me when you arrive) with a race vest/crop/tshirt (black and gold) to run.
Most importantly, if anyone can bake/buy some cakes please let me know – our Chairperson has already volunteered! If a few people bake/bring for each race we will have plenty to go round. Bring your own hot/cold drink for after!
Jaffa’s are doing a cake sale (cash only) just in case we run out…!
When
Sunday 26th October 2025 at 10.45am – NB we will do a team photo at about 10.35 to allow members to then warm up before the race start.
Where
Ipswich High School, Woolverstone, IP9 1AZ.
Car Parking
Car parking will be located on the grass field on the first left as you go up the drive to the school – the same as for Ekiden.
Marshals will be there to guide and park you in. Like all races, car sharing is essential for both the benefit of the environment and as the car park space is limited.
If members need a lift / can offer a lift please comment on the Facebook post/in WhatsApp.
Senior Race
The senior race will be a small 500m loop round the main field followed by two approx. 2.25 mile
loops.

Please note some of this course does crossover a public footpath so be respectful of anyone on the course. The course is most suitable for trail shoes and mud will be very rare. The course however is twisty, technical and has a few “little” sharp inclines. Around the car park field you will enter through a narrow gate opening and exit by climbing over a style, please ensure that everyone gets over safely and whilst this is a race there are plenty of overtaking opportunities elsewhere on the course!
Refreshments
We will have a member organised cake sale on site so please bring your coins (and notes!) to make a donation towards our club annual charity donation. This will be cakes & treats only, if you want a post-run cuppa we recommend bring a flask.
Toilets
We will have 8 single portable toilets on site for the race. There are no other toilet or changing facilities so please be respectful of the grounds we’ve hired by not going in the bushes!
