BD5 Race Day info

Dear Runners,

Thank you for entering the Witham Running Club 31st Boxing Day 5.

I just want to let everyone know that All Race Numbers with the Chips attached are to be collected on the day. Please therefore allow yourself a little extra time, although we have lots of helpers on the day handing them out, so we don’t expect any delays.

The race start time is 11am.

The main car park is 6-7 mins walk to race HQ which is then 5 min’s from the start, so please allow yourself time on the day to collect your number and get to the start.

We are using the same course as last year with its faster down hill start!  The start is further up on Blunts Hall Road, with the finish in the far corner of the Football Club car park.

There will be maps up in and around the hall and the football club on the day and you can also view the Course Map here. There will be a mustering point on the field adjacent to the start for a short briefing, so please be there at least 5 minutes before hand.

We have chip timing (Provided by Harwich Runners) and this will be stuck on the back of your race number. Please ensure that as you cross the finish line you do not raise your GPS watch in front of your number as this has been known to block the signal and you won’t record your time and position.  As we don’t collect the chip back off you please don’t walk back past the finish line as you will get a second result!!

Parking is provided this year at the Witham Leisure Centre, Spinks Lane, Witham, CM8 1EP and is dedicated parking for the BD5. There is limited parking in the ASDA car park and residential roads opposite Witham Football Club which will once again as race HQ (Spa Road, Witham, CM8 1UN). Their is also a car park behind the shops at the top of Spa Road.

Parking at the football club with be for Marshalls, Officials and disabled parking initially, but drop off and collection can take place at the driveway entrance. We may open this car park to runners if the leisure centre becomes full. Exit from the Football club car park will not be allowed until after 12pm.

We will be handing out numbers right up until the last minute if you do arrive late.

We also have a team trophy again this year, The first 3 Men and the 3 Ladies home for their club will score.
