Winter 5k results
15 January 2016 - By James Crisp
Last night we held the second of the winter 5K races. I didn’t know how many to expect, but in the end there were 11 brave people who came along to run in very cold and windy conditions.
It was a Darney one-two with Scott just dipping under 20 by the narrowest margin, and Sean putting in a fine run behind him. It was great to see some of our newer (and returning) runners making it out on such a rotten night. Some great performances further down the field, not least from Vicky, Dawn and Big Dave. Well done to all of you, you deserve a lot of credit for coming out to run.
Unfortunately the perils of running in the cold accounted for one of the runners. Graham Eyre tweaked a hamstring in the warm up, so I hope it’s not too bad and hope to see you when it is better.
To my nine fellow helpers – you are all superstars for coming out to stand around in those conditions. So a massive thanks to James Crisp, DJ, Roger Duffield, Andrew Lager, Mark Amner, James Montgomery, Fozzy, Theresa Montgomery, and Tracey.
Thanks, Marc

A massive thank you to Big Dave for giving me his gloves last night, don’t think my hands have ever felt so cold.
I bet you still wore your flip-flops!!
Peeps can confirm I had boots on 😉
A Big thanks to Marc for his devotion to duty and those 9 `Superstars’ who put me to shame.
Have we unearthed the WRC equivalent of the Brownlee Brothers?
As Marc said so good to see 6 of the 10 finishers joining WRC in 2015/2016 with Big Dave coming home as the longest serving member!!
Thanks Marc, & his helpers for turning up last night despite the bitter cold conditions.
