SVP 100k Result
15 August 2016 - By Brigid Wallen
Well that’s done!! I won’t bore you with the full 14:13.21 of my trot around the Stour Valley Path but suffice to say I completed the 100k within the 15.30 cut-off time.
The course was well marked and at each check point there were hugely enthusiastic marshals offering all sorts of goodies from statutory jelly beans to boiled potatoes and sausage rolls!!
Talking of hugely enthusiastic, thank you to everyone who came out to support me: Stuart, Wendy, Liz, Alex, Theresa, James, Terry and Charlotte. Seeing you all there was a huge boost and spurred me on.
The biggest hug of the day goes to Tony who was my dietician, psychiatrist, nutritionist, make-up artist (joke, honest). Thank you for the scrummy slices of pizza and jam rolls, change of clothes at check points and for all your support in the build up.
This is sounding like an Oscar’s acceptance speech so I’ll sign off now but just to say I loved the whole experience and challenge. I won’t say it was easy run/walking for 63 miles and there were some negative thoughts along the way, so thanks to my good friend Tracy Harrington from Tiptree Road Runners (aka Duracell Bunny) for getting me through it.
I am on cloud 9 at the mo. See you on Tuesday when hopefully I’ll be back down to earth 😄

Well done Brigid. What a run, brilliant. I am so pleased you did it and well inside the cut off. Awesome.
