Friday Night Run

A good turnout of black and gold for this event at the Colchester Sports Park track. With temperatures hotter than the surface of the sun*, our brave runners took on 5 laps of the 1k track, and a girl with a water pistol, to complete the 5k course. (*Estimated)

Elite

To qualify for this race, you have to have run a sub-17min (men) or sub-21 min (women) 5k. Witham had 2 runners on the track for this race, with Pete Coates finishing 7th in a time of 15:25 – with a new PB and Club Record – and Chris Martin finishing in 17:31.

 

Tour of Terling – Day 1

We had three runners take on the 7.5 mile route on day 1 of this 4 day series, with Terry Alabaster finishing 6th in 1.02.02 and Chris Beazeley and Nicola Norman finishing together in 1:32:10.

 

Scorrier House 10k

Slightly further away, James Attenborough and David Jobling were at this 10k event in Cornwall, and finished in 56:18 and 1:01:38 respectively.

 

TOTW: Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain. Or tried to run a track 5k in 33deg heat.
