11 December 2023 - By Natalie Lilley

Thanks to Steven for filling in at the last minute last week. I’m not sure I can compete with that Thought of the Week – I thought it was a Covid fever dream for a bit.

This week, of course, most of you were busy getting filthy at Hilly Fields, but there were a handful of intrepid WRC members out at other events..

Run Through Chase the Moon 10k

Dean Whittaker was out on a school night at the Olympic Park in London, where he got a shiny new PB, and completed his silver standard to boot.

Chip time 43:39 – Well done Dean!

MEC Glow Night Trail

Terry Alabaster, Andy White and Sue Smith were also out and about on Wednesday night, taking on a 4.3 mile night trail that sounded pretty messy from the write-up!

Terry finished 4th overall in 42:32, and Andy and Sue completed the course in 59:11

Sikhs in the City – Dawn to Dusk Marathon

Lysia Jiggins was in North East London bright and early on Sunday for this lapped event, completing the marathon distance (20 laps!) in 4:59:37 (Strava time).

NESS race 3 – Hilly Fields (hosted by GBRC)

Thought of the week: Be careful if you bought a fancy new Garmin in the sales. Apparently, if it says you can swim with it, this only applies if you can already swim without it.
