Chilterns ultra 50k

19 July 2016 - By Terry Alabaster

On Saturday I completed the chilterns 50k ultra. The course was different in places than last year and seemed to take in every hill that was on offer.

I took it careful because it was very hot and I had just had an injury clear up. It did not take long to realise it had not healed properly so it was very hard going.

The final distance was 32.50 miles and the vast majority of the last 22 miles was spent walking. I finished in a very tired 8 hours and 33 seconds. Luckily the injured part of my leg seems to have held up quite well.

Hopefully the next one will be less tiring.

Lack of hydration Terry. You need to do more pub runs when Andrews can keep you fuelled up!
Well done though from someone who can’t do 5k let alone 50!
