4 Day Tour of Terling – Results
17 August 2017 - By Bill smythe
A fantastic 4 day event held around the lovely village of Terling hosted by Mid Essex Casuals. The weather was kind on all 4 days adding to the enjoyment.
Day 1 was a 7 mile trail run with instructions and 2 clippers to find to prove you had completed the course.
Day 2 continued with a more complicated 5 mile trail run with instructions and 5 clippers to find. Having to run past the finish line in the last half mile added a little twist and some amusement for the organiser.
Day 3 was held mainly on the road with 3 loops of Terling, 1 dry and 2 wet loops through the ford which was at my knees so fairly deep for some. Some penalties added an extra twist with 5 minutes added for not going through the ford and taking the time of the person ahead of you if you finished within 30 seconds.
Day 4 was the final challenge with 2 x 1 mile sprints. The first went up hill with a couple of minutes rest and then a sprint back down.
Well done to all the 12 club members who took part and to the 6 who went the distance and completed the 4 days. Results below.
