Winter Pub Run #1 – Queens head, Maldon

10 October 2016 - By Marc Underdown

As announced last week, as there is a first team football match as well as another function in the Witham FC hall, it seemed logical to try and find another venue to hold this week’s Tuesday night club run. Ex-Chairman Stewart ably took up the challenge of finding another venue at short notice, and I’m pleased to say we will be running from the Queens Head at the Hythe in Maldon.  We have run from there once before, and so hopefully this will be a winter option that you enjoy.

Parking immediately outside the pub is very limited. The nearest car park is at Edward Bright Close, CM9 5RU, just off the High St. It costs £1 for parking between 5pm and 10pm, and is a 5 min walk away. Alternatively, Tesco car park is free but is half a mile away – turn left just over the bridge onto Anchorage Hill and then cut through Chandler’s Quay alley way and then Downs road.

As ever with the pub runs, we encourage you to try and support the pub and I’m sure many of you will take the opportunity to do just that, re-living those balmy summer pub runs which weren’t that long ago!

We will hopefully have the routes on the website before the run, and in any case we’ll have them available on the night for group leaders. Normal ‘rules’ around hi-viz clothing please. Hope to see lots of you there.

Marc
