Springfield 53-12 XC
16 February 2016 - By Stewart Waller
There was another good turnout of WRC members at last Sundays 53-12 league meeting at the new venue of Writtle Agricultural College.
Hosted by Springfield Striders the new 8.5K course proved attractive, interesting and challenging especially when heading full tilt down a slippery slope towards the lake!
As usual there were some great performances and whilst it is wrong to single out individuals it was good to see James Farren back in club kit and leading the way in. Pete Riley also continued to excel as did Leo Cole, Heydon Mizen and our ladies Helen Armitage and Liz Stuckey.
Full results soon (despite a certain club forgetting to bring the discs with them!) but we once again finished first in Pool B and go into the final race at Ipswich on the 28th February with a four point lead. This should not signal complacency however. We need another large attendance so lets try and make it a record for a XC as we tackle the course under the dramatic Orwell Bridge and hopefully pick up the Pool B trophy – again!
Pics from Writtle are in the gallery. Thanks Shawn.
