SD Thursday 23 February – Market Hill, Maldon (NB – No Witham session)
20 February 2023 - By Jodee Mayer
This Thursday we are doing hill repetitions at Market Hill, Maldon, reprising a hill session previously proving quite popular with our members.
We will meet at 19.30 in the Maldon Tesco car park by the click and collect point (the far right hand side) for our session introduction after which we’ll head off for a short warm up run to Fullbridge Quay (at the bottom of Market Hill) where we’ll run through our dynamic stretches and drills before we kick off the session main part. Do complete a longer warm up jog prior to 19.30 if you wish.
The session will then last for 30 minutes and consist of athletes running up Market Hill, from our start point at Fullbridge Quay, all the way to the pedestrian crossing at the top (one of us will be stood there waiting for you!) where you will ease off/stop, turn around for an initial walk then jog recovery back to the bottom – then go again. The session is one best for the lap button.
We will then jog back to Tesco and do some stretches in the car park.
Pacing suggestion is to try and do all the ascending runs at the same effort and even pace, perhaps start off around or just slower than 10k / Tuesday night “tempo” pace and vary this depending on how it’s going for you.
We’ll be sharing the footpath with other footpath users so please extend the usual courtesies.
It is well lit but please do wear high viz and /or lights.
Graham and I look forward to meeting up with everyone on Thursday.
