Saturday Track Sessions
21 April 2017 - By Martyn Byford
I have been asked if there will be any track sessions again this Spring/early Summer.
In short I am happy to facilitate sessions at the Track at Braintree on a Saturday Morning from 9 – 10 if there is a demand.
Like last year it will be a pay £2 on the day at reception with those who belong to Fusion ( Witham, Braintree, Halstead) not having to pay.
Because we don’t hire the track ( its not financially viable) there is a possibility that it may get booked at short notice therefore I check availability on the prior Friday and if that is the case I will put a website and FB post with an alternative plan.
The format will be 1 hour split into 5 segments – warmup, drills, main session, warm down and static stretches.
The main session will be challenging although suitable for anyone wishing to improve their core speed. It will be split into 2 x 20 minute routines with a 3 minute liquid break between each.
The dates I have in mind are 20th, 27th May, 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th June. For those having run Spring Marathons it will have given sufficient time to recover. Ideally I would like to have started on 13th May but Baddow 10 is the following day.
Can I ask please that someone posts on FB with a request for those interested to indicate so I have some rough idea of possible numbers.
Any questions please drop me a line.
Thanks
Martyn

Please avoid 10 June as we’re doing Notley Parkrun takeover that day 🙂
Or we move Parkrun to later in the year?
Hi Steve, we could but the date has been agreed with the committee and the Notely Parkrun organisers back in March. Doesn’t look good if we back out from volunteering because we arranged a track session.
Interested mate, have stour Valley on 4th June but will come to i can.
Hi Martyn
I can do the first three session but not the last three. Would that be OK?
Can make most of the sessions Martyn
Very Interested Martyn – I cant make 27th May or 10th June but otherwise ok assuming my knee holds up. Clare
