It’s been a bumper week of races, both local and further afield. If I have missed your result or PB, please let me know (or accept my Strava follow request…).

Please also let JB or I know if you wish to use your half marathon result as your wild card for the Club Champs.

 

English National Cross Country Championships

Pete Riley and Leo Cole headed to the “home of cross country”, Parliament Hill, for the English National Cross Country Championship on 26 February 2022.

Pete finished in 1:00:44 and Leo in 01:02:59 on what, I am informed, was a mild, sunny day  but a very muddy course!

 

Essex 20

What could be a better way to run 20 miles than five, 4 mile, laps of an airfield?!

12 WRC runners headed to Debden Airfield for this marathon prep race. Some great performances and a few PBs as well – great running everyone.

Chelmsford Half Marathon

There were reports of marshals repeatedly letting cars cross in front of runners hampering some WRC members, but the team still had some stellar performances, with 2 runners in the top 10 and some PBs as well – great running everyone.

4 WRC runners took on the 10k course, with Michelle completing her first ever race! Well done everyone.

Cambridge Half Marathon

Three of our runners ventured slightly further afield to Cambridge for a half marathon, with some equally great performances:

  • Luke Harper – 1:58:19
  • Shane Ketteridge – 2:04:13
  • Kevin Slattery – 2:16:59

 

Grizzley 2022

Andy White and Geoff Reddin headed even further afield, to Devon, for this multi terrain race, with Andy finishing the 20 mile course in 4:25:53 and Geoff in 4:41:29. Well done everyone!

 

TOTW – when life gives you Monday, cover it in glitter and sparkle all day.

    Hi Jodee, my Essex 20 time was a pb, and I won a bronze county medal, for finishing 3rd in my age category.
