Pub runs – The Western Arms

A busy Bank Holiday weekend of races didn’t deter many members from turning up in Silver End last Tuesday. Another perfect evening for running led to a good number staying on at The Western where the drink and ketchup flowed in some quantity and 20 meals were served on what was quite a lively evening.

Next week it is hoped and expected that an even larger attendance will be achieved as we mark the return, after a break of nearly six years, to The Wheatsheaf in Hatfield Peveral (CM3 2JF).

This was always a popular venue and hopefully will be again. Subject to ground conditions there is ample parking (for a change!) on the field at the rear of the pub and an excellent menu a copy of which (I hope) appears below. (My apologies for poor quality reproduction but your ‘food and drink researcher’ had the shakes at the time!) In addition the restaurant area is being reserved for WRC only and an extra chef employed to ensure prompt service.
