Pub runs – The Chequers, Wickham Bishops.

1 June 2016 - By Stewart Waller

Ok, it wasn’t the greatest pub run we have had (yours truly can only think of one that was worse). The weather just about stayed dry for us after a miserable wet morning and afternoon but the service at the pub left an awful lot to be desired. Whilst it was out of my hands my apologies for any disappointment. The pub was aware of our arrival and possible numbers but was clearly understaffed in the catering dept. I ordered my food at 6.45pm and got it prompt on 10pm. Another pub that may not make the list next year!

Onwards and upwards however! Next Tuesday we are at The Compasses in Littley Green (CM3 1BU) where things will be better organised!! For those who have not been to it before it’s a great pub with a couple of very pleasant quiet routes of 5.8 and 3.2 miles.

See you there.
