Pub runs – (Autumn?) The Angel, Kelvedon.

7 September 2016 - By Stewart Waller

It may well have been the first of the winter (or autumn?) pub runs but, for this old jogger at least, it was certainly the stickiest of 2016. With humidity at 97% during the day getting around the excellent course plotted by DJ was a feat in itself and left many of us looking forward to the refreshments provided at The Angel (for the anoraks 31 stayed for food).

I’m not sure how many plumbed to do the ‘add on’ but if you were one of them then extremely well done. Starting with a bit of xc in daylight we finished the basic 5 mile route in the dark and very damp!

As the chairman has already advised next Tuesday it is back to the football club. I know that it is not everyone’s cup of tea but the socialising does continue in the bar afterwards where the drinks are much cheaper and the sausage and chips highly recommended by Colsey so why not give it a try?

And on the bright side further winter pub runs are being planned!

In the meantime enjoy the streets of Witham.
