Pub run record turnout
4 May 2016 - By Stewart Waller
What a start to our summer pub run season. Following last weeks great turn out at The Willows this weeks attendance at The Green Dragon was even better setting a new CB (club best!). A huge number arrived, quickly filling the car park and a staggering 43 stayed on for food plus others for drinks.
This is the largest number we have ever had proving the popularity of our country runs so if you haven’t been to one yet then how about putting in an appearance next week when we will be at The Old Crown in Messing village.
Our route incorporates part of the Tiptree 10 course and the slight incline back to the finish will leave you looking forward to your dinner and a drink at this great pub (for the past couple of years voted by a lot of you foodies as having the best cuisine).
As the v/chairman mentioned on Tuesday evening, however, the pub is not blessed with a large car park so you may need to park along the road (near the church and down the hill towards the pub is best) so please car share if you can and ensure that local residents are not inconvenienced.
One final thought. Why not fly the flag for the club and wear your club top Tuesday evening? They’re not just for races!
See you there.
