Membership 2023/2024

As 22/23 draws to a close. I would like to thank all 187 of you for supporting the club in our 39th year.

As some of you will be aware, WRC was founded in 1983 which makes this year our 40th Anniversary! The committee are already looking into various ways we can celebrate this throughout the year.

The first thing we have for you all is the 40th Anniversary T shirt pictured below. This is being sold at cost price of £15 and is made by the same firm who make our training tops. We hope to see many of you donning this on various runs throughout the year. Thank you to James Crisp for the design.  This can be purchased from the “Buy kit” area of our website.

As per the AGM, membership prices will remain as they have been for a number of years. The EA licence has increased by £1. We will allow the usual grace period up until the 31st of May for existing members to renew.

Whilst of course you can opt out of the EA licence,  if 150 of you do buy the licence then we as a club will qualify for two London Marathon places. As per the club constitution, you must have renewed and bought an EA licence by the 30th of April in order to qualify for the London marathon place(s). The place (s) are awarded to the two club members who achieve the most commitment points in the Club Champs in 2023. So be sure to enter the Club champ races and volunteer as much as you can in order to stand the best chance of representing WRC in London 2024. Remember an EA licence normally gives £2 discount per race (sometimes more) so if you’re doing more than 8 races in 23/24 then it will be pay for itself.

The membership types are as follows:

Individual Training £47 (inc EA licence) – This is our standard membership.

Non Training: £32 (inc EA) This is designed for members who may live further away and/or can’t make any Tuesday or Thursday nights. You can also wear club colours and race in the usual XC races etc.

Student: £32 (inc EA) for any members in full time education.

Family: £50 (plus £17 for each EA licence) For members who reside at the same address.

Over 65’s: £27 (inc EA) Self explanatory.

As this is our 40th year, we would love to increase our membership to over 200 again, please therefore reach out to members who you may not have seen in a while and encourage them along. It’s less than 3 weeks now until our first pub run with lighter and hopefully warmer nights…
