March 2023 CMOTM

The CMOTM for March 2023 is Owen Dare for taking 5 minutes off a 30-year old club record at the Essex 20 which was originally held by John Roberts. This was also a PB for Owen. He was also only a  minute away from the club Half Marathon record at the Victoria Park Half Marathon where he finished first in his category and gained a Diamond Standard.

The other nominees for March were:

Dan Griffiths – for his performance at Brett Lydd 20 mile race where he took off a full 25 minutes from his previous result – this is testament to the great training he has been doing in prep for his Marathon.

Colin Short – For his amazing hard work and commitment in returning to regular and ever improving running up to 5k during the month after an enforced lengthy time out and recovery period – building back with the WRC Tuesday night walking group, cycling, swimming and indoor home workouts.

Kevin Slattery – For being so friendly and welcoming to new members.

Pete Coates – For his PB and Club Records at the Essex 20.

Leanne Andrews – Following on form her PB at Bentley in February, Leanne ran another Half Marathon PB at Chelmsford in March.
