Junior Training Age
12 May 2016 - By Tracey Gibbons
Dear All,
It has been brought to our attention that UK Athletics now require newly qualified coaches to take an additional course to be able to coach U12’s. As a result this means that myself and Shawn are currently not qualified to train any Juniors under the age of 12 years old. Therefore it saddens both Shawn & I to inform you all, that in the short term we have no choice but to increase the age at which we can accept any Juniors to our running club training from 8 years to 12 years old. This means all the Juniors who are under 12 years old for the time being will be unable to attend Saturday morning training. Effective immediately
The Witham Running Club coaches, with the support of the committee, are currently looking into how we can overcome this issue and we are taking advice from the relevant authorities. Please know that it is our intention to try and find a solution which may allow us to reverse the decision, as we are committed to providing training to under 12’s.
We hope to have some answers soon and will get back to you as soon as possible..
Please see the website & your emails regarding this matter for any updates.
Kind regards
Tracey & Shawn

Natalie is devastated, I hope the club are able to sort this out sooner rather than later. Our Saturday mornings are not going to be the same.
This is sad news 🙁 Please keep us posted – I’d like to bring Lucyanne along once it’s sorted xx
