Halstead Marathon – Final instructions
9 May 2018 - By Stewart Waller
First of all many thanks to those who have volunteered to woman/man our water station No.2 this coming Sunday at the Halstead Marathon. We have been providing this help to Halstead Road Runners for many years now and I know that it is very much appreciated.
Apart from helping our friends at HRR it also affords the opportunity to support our own members who are taking part in the race and as anyone who has volunteered in the past will tell you, it is good fun so if you want to help out it’s not too late. There are also club championship points up for grabs!!
Please meet at Halstead Leisure Centre (CO9 2HR) at 9am for marshalls briefing. You can park in the marshalls car park which is next door to the leisure centre. From there we will proceed to the water station where parking is a bit tight so some car sharing is sensible (I can take 5). We need to be in position and set up by 10am. Expect to be there for about 4 hours so don’t forget your own refreshments. It looks like summer is over, for now at least. Sundays forecast is for much cooler conditions with showers which is, of course, great for the runners but not so great when you are standing around so please come prepared for the English climate!
Any problems please get in touch with me.
See you Sunday.
Stew

Stew, can you send me a list of the volunteers who help out after Sunday so I can update the Club Champs scores. Thanks – Steve
Will do!
